To Know Christ And to Make Him Known

Food Pantry

Summer 2009

We delivered 477 pounds of food to Lutheran Social Services in Uniondale! They were most appreciative as this summer food supplies have been considerably lower. Thanks to all who contributed!

April 2009

We have been blessed for years with the services which Boy Scout Troop 157 has given to Calvary and our community.

On March 14, 2009, the Scouts collected over 800 lbs of food for Calvary's Food Pantry & Chaplaincy Fund for the Troops. This is an annual collection drive for the Scouts. A few weeks ago a handful of the Scouts collected enough items so that 7 more packages could be sent to our troops overseas!

May God bless our Troop 157!!!

December 2008

I was able to mail 7 more packages to the troops with all the food that was collected with the aid of the school children (Harry Shehigian's students at Hauppauge High School) and one of our members at Calvary. Also a big thank you goes to VFW Post 2736 of East Meadow as they picked up the Postal costs! I have mailed 81 packages to date!! God bless all of you who have also contributed in any way to this worthwhile mission.

November 2008

THANKSGIVING WILL BE HERE BEFORE WE KNOW IT!!!

We need to remember those who are less fortunate. If you have supermarket certificates for turkeys and/or hams and wish to donate them to the Food Pantry, we will gladly accept them! Turkeys & Hams should be left in the Church refrigerator & marked for the food pantry. YES! We do have a freezer to hold them in.

Thank you & GOD bless you.
