Happy Years
Happy Years was formed in 1991 with a small group of seniors. It has grown to be from 50-70 people today. The purpose is for fellowship, joining socially, going on trips and having entertainment at meetings. We met twice a month: the first Sunday and the third Friday at 2 p.m. The meetings last about 2 1/2 hours, finishing up with coffee and cake. About 2 or 3 times a year we have a dinner or pot luck luncheon, where we bring food. On those occasions, the meeting starts at 1 p.m.
The business meeting is usually 1/2 hr, we have a President, Vice President-Treasurer-Secretary-person in charge of trips which has been Ronnie Pleis since it started. A Sun Shine lady Kay Winkler and once a year in February there is a trip to Woodloch Pines resort in Pennsylvania.
We contribute to the church each year also other endeavors. There is a $10 charge each year, which runs from September-June of our next year. We pay for our dinners and charge $1 each member at each meeting (except when there is a dinner).
We have a good, caring, social group and we have other Calvary people as members. I encourage Seniors to join us for a good sociability and to keep the club viable.
