Parish Assistant
Before our Ministers of Christian Education and Youth came on the scene, Calvary was served ably for three years by Howard Simpson, our Parish Assistant. Howard, a member of Calvary, did a great deal of evangelistic work and other types of visitation. He helped teach the confirmation classes, taught Bible classes for adults and youth, trained Sunday School teachers and directed the youth program.
Our president at the time, Warren Lowe, said of him, "It is impossible to estimate the value of our frill-time Parish Assistant. How can one evaluate spiritual influence? Howard Simpson is not merely a hired man; he is a faithful servant of Christ. We love and respect him."
