Assistant To The Pastor
Eric Eichinger, who became the assistant to the Pastor in July 1998, aims to get our youth excited about Christianity and the church and become comfortable in discussing the Christian faith with their peers. He helped Pastor Therwanger in the conduct of services, with the confirmation class, visitation of shut-ins, and in an occasional funeral service. He lead a young men's Bible study and is involved in the Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and the Nursery School. A college major in drama, he played a leading role in an impressive Lenten drama in Lent 1999. He has arranged youth retreats, lock-ins, movie nights, a progressive dinner at Christmas and murder mystery dinner theaters at Halloween.
Eric finished 26th in a field of 180 runners selected from around the world in the February 1999 Empire State Building Run-up. He sprinted up to the 86th story in 14 minutes and 5 seconds. His run-up raised $1891 from Calvary sponsors to help pay for the youth servant event in Tennesee in July 1999.
