Calvary Nursery School

Calvary Nursery School -- Growing and Changing -- 25 YearsIn 1981 Calvary Lutheran Church established a Nursery School. During the school's formative years from 1981 to 1987 the school was administered in cooperation with Nassau Lutheran School. In 1987, because of the expanding needs of the school, Calvary began administering the school entirely on its own. From its small beginning of under 18 students Calvary Nursery School has grown to have a capacity of 90 students.

Calvary Nursery School is a very warm place where children grow to know Jesus, and develop through a variety of learning experiences. It is a family of children, parents, teachers, church members, and friends in the love of Jesus.

Our nursery classes consist of either 3 or 4 year old children with one teacher and one or two assistants for each class, depending on the size of the class. Class size is limited to 16 students.

Nursery School Facts


Sessions
Morning: 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Afternoon: 12:15 PM to 2:45 PM


We have Pre-K classes and 3 year old classes, Sessions are for two or three days each week. Please consult the school for the class appropriate for your child, and for class availability.

We also have Mommy and Me classes for children age 2 by Dec.1. This program is for 1 1/2 hours, once a week. Call the Nursery School Office at 516-520-4067 for information.

Nursery School Entrance Requirements


Child must have reached the age of 3 prior to December 1st of the school year.
Child must be toilet trained.
Child must have necessary immunizations by September.

Enrollment Information


We begin accepting applications for new enrollments in January for the following school year. Applications are available through the school or here.


A non-refundable enrollment fee must accompany your application.
Tuition rates are adjusted annually. Tuition information is detailed on the application form.

Classes are filled on a first come, first served basis after one week of priority enrollment. Classes are closed when 16 students have registered for any single class.

You will receive confirmation of the class your child has been registered for a short time after receipt of your application. At that time your child's registration is considered final.

In mid-July you will receive final notification and additional forms required by the school and New York State. There will also be a letter containing beginning dates, a list of materials required for class, and tuition payment schedule and envelopes.

First Tuition payments are due by August 1st. Tuition rates and payment policies are explained in detail on the application forms.
